Thoughts in a Graveyard

Today is Thanksgiving in the States, but Thursday in Ireland. Black Friday is a thing here, but nobody likes it.

A friend is visiting and we walked up the hill behind the village to the old church and its two graveyards.

There are two Protestant churches in Dunfanaghy, plus this ruin. There is one Catholic church, across the road from the work house.

Pippin contemplated his mortality while standing on a 400 year old grave slab, but I didn't. I simply felt my gratitude for this life, in this place, this afternoon.
